Chamber Import Bonds Program
ENSURE IMPORT FEES ARE PAID
The benefit of going through Chamber Import Bond Services is that your business will see the cost of the premiums upfront. The premium that you will pay is $525 for a minimum bond purchase of $5,000. (1% per $1,000 with a minimum premium of $525). Bonds under $25,000 are pre-approved. Your business also gets the support and guidance from our team on how to apply for the bond and our partner Aon will assist in the underwriting and provide guidance on how to submit the bonds to CBSA. An import bond acts as a type of contract between CBSA, the importer and the surety company to ensure that duties, taxes and fees associated with the importation of goods into Canada, will be paid.

BC Hydro worked collaboratively on business community awareness and engagement with the Campbell River & District Chamber of Commerce for the successful John Hart Generating Station Replacement Project (construction 2014-2019).
Our collaboration continues and is now focused on the proposed upgrades to the John Hart, Ladore and Strathcona dams. Construction upgrade work at the dams will begin in June of 2023 and last for about six years.
